OTS Communications Equipment is the de-facto standard for Public Safety Divers and Miliary Divers around the globe. Hollywood, Aquariums, and Sport Divers recognize OTS equipment as being the best value in meeting their needs as well.

We are excited to post links to some of our customers websites, news items, and photos of OTS’s Technology In Action. We welcome our customers to send us any testimonials or stories about how the Guardian FFM or our communications have changed how you dive. Pictures showing how and where they work are also appreciated. Please send any stories and/or pictures to rlummus@otscomm.com

With dive industry sales down 30% in the U.S. and a struggling American economy, it’s definitely a gamble as to how good or bad a show is going to be for OTS. This year’s DEMA was an incredible success with Guardians leaving the booth faster than we could write up orders. To add to the excitement OTS had their first ever Guardian Mask raffle give away! Lots of business cards were left but only 4 lucky people received the prize!

We were also very fortunate to have the National Park Service share some booth space with us where they displayed their 3D footage of the Guardian in use. It was definitely a show stopper and a fun added extra to our booth. A big thank you to the National Park Service!

All in all DEMA was fun and successful for OTS this year! Selling over 300 masks and many communication sets, DEMA provided a very happy OTS Sales Force and a ton of smiling customers.

Dive Around The Clock is an annual fundraiser for Seattle Children’s Hospital. This is a 24 hour “dive-a-thon” event held by divers in the Puget Sound area of Washington State. For our July 2010 program, Ocean Technology Systems was asked if they would assist us in this event. DATC was planning to do a live underwater webcast direct to Seattle Children’s Hospital. OTS was very helpful by supplying both a Guardian FFM and a MK2-DCI Diver communication unit. The quality of the comms with the Guardian and the MK2 was superb! We were able to run our live streaming webcast for over 2 hours. The patients and their families watched and listened to our underwater show. The immediate report from the hospital was how very clear the divers audio was as it streamed over the internet.

For our July 2011 fundraising event, we are planning a new and improved live webcast. This year, we are using two Guardian Full-Face Masks along with the MK2-DCI comm unit all wired to a hi-speed network and an audio PA system to allow folks on the surface to hear the show too! Thanks OTS! We appreciate the support for our unique underwater program. Our webpage is: www.divearoundtheclock.com
Why not keep it in a bag designed to store it like it is supposed to be stored. The mask bag was designed to help keep your mask in the right drying position, keeping water from pooling in your 2nd stage regulator. It also has vents to keep good ventilation helping to stop mildew and drain holes to let water drain away from the mask. Lots of storage pockets as well. One is a dry storage compartment! The bag has a carrying handle as well as a shoulder strap. In all, it’s a great investment to help keep your valuable FFM stored in.

Being in business always finds you amazed and astonished at what pops up. Recently, a new toy emerged that caught my attention. I mean really caught my attention! A company named Toy’s Irmail has come up with a new toy called, “USSOCOM NAVY SEAL UDT – AGA MASK VERSION.” The toy is a GI Joe type with lots of accessories. The details are amazing to say the least. The accessories that caught my eye was our MAGNACOM® Special Warfare Single Sideband transceiver, Hi-USE® connectors, OTS push-to-talk assembly, earphones and AGA/Interspiro full-face mask! Further, the packaging used a picture I took—all this was done without OTS having any knowledge. The question is…do you get mad or flattered?

This is not the first time we have noticed our products being copied or made similarly. On a visit to Korea, I noticed a group of Korean Seals working out in our tee-shirts. It kind of made me feel good. However, in the middle of my training, I noticed the tee shirts were not really OTS shirts. They were copies using our pictures and artwork. Again, do you get mad or flattered? For those of you who may wonder how I felt, I was more on the flattered side:)
