 Michael R. Pelissier

Michael was born in Northern California.  In 1962 his family moved to Southern California where he resides to date.  Michael enjoyed High School excelling in Football, Wrestling and Track.  He earned a varsity letter in each and went on to play College Football again lettering.  Michael majored in Business Law but was inducted into the Armed Forces his Freshman year of College.   After five years of service with the U.S. Navy, as a United State Navy Diver (spending eighteen months of service in Viet Nam), Michael was honorably discharged and entered a career in Sales.

Michael soon became a "Top Performer" with every company he worked for.  When working for the Treasury Department store, a wholly owned division of J.C. Penney Co., Michael won Salesman of the Year.  In 1979, Michael joined Efcom, Inc., an underwater communication company.  Michael developed and ran Efcom's sales department.

In 1984, Michael left Efcom and along with Jerry Peck formed Ocean Technology Systems (OTS). Presently, Michael is the President and CEO of OTS spending most of his time wearing the "Sales & Marketing" hat.

A major achievement for Michael was when he went to Cocos Island with a film crew to help produce a TV Show called, "Expedition Earth, Cocos Island."  Peter Benchly (most famous for writing JAWS) and Stan Waterman were the main talents.  Marty Snyderman was the primary shooter.  Michael was tasked to capture the underwater communications.  The impact of talking underwater was such that Ocean Technology Systems underwater communications was nominated for a National Emmy Award.  In 1991 Michael was presented a National Emmy Award for Technical Acheivment.  It was the start of Hollywood's quest for talents and crew communicating underwater.

Michael is also one of OTS's key members of the design team.  Many of his ideas and designs are in use today.  His most innovative idea was to incorporate a PTT control into the HM-2 mouth mask.  The outcome was so unique, it was awarded a patent.

When Michael is not shooting, diving or editing a promotional video, he spends time with his family (wife Cindy & daughter Renee). Michael feels strongly that underwater communications is an important part of any serious diver's equipment.  Michael feels that underwater communications can greatly enhance the joy of diving. "Why wait to share the excitement of diving? Communicate while the excitement is happening!"
